Black Bart New CD from the South West's hardest working band...

March 25th will see the release of Town To Town, the eagerly awaited new EP from Black Bart. It is their second EP, and the follow-up to their 2006 debut Still Looks the Same which put Black Bart on the map in the South West music scene.

Town To Town is a selection of Black Bart's finest live performances recorded from 2006 to 2007 at various venues from London's Rock Garden to the Central Hotel in Bournemouth, and produced at Faustuss Studios in Dorset. The recordings once again united the group with producer Arthur Rathbone Pullen. Explaining how they came to decide on releasing a live CD, guitarist and songwriter Rob Joy said "The tone and the feel of the band when performing live is hugely different to studio material and we felt that the CD needed to reflect that. We play better when we're all together, getting feedback from a lively audience and pushing ourselves harder."

Town To Town features five tracks. Rollin' and Tumblin' is a classic Black Bart cover of a traditional song, bursting with the energy and vitality that characterise Black Bart's interpretations, and featuring guest vocals by actor and original band member Chris R Wright. I Believe takes us on an emotional journey, exploring the darker side of the band's collective psyche. Town To Town, the title track and in many ways one of Black Bart's trademark numbers shows that bassist Pete shares a talent for writing catchy yet meaningful lyrics.  I'm Going Home is a footstomping, train-wrecking anthem that never fails to turn a crowd into a lively throng. The new (electric) version of Small Town Folk is a sensitive yet sinister ballad that seems both comforting and threatening, taking the listener into a soundscape of throbbing tremolo refrains and haunting vocals. What's more...if you put the CD into any PC you will find a bonus video track, showing Black Bart performing Rollin' and Tumblin'  in their own inimitable charismatic style.

Black Bart are undoubtedly the hardest working band in the South West, and are performing a ever increasing number of dates. Watch this space for news of further appearances.

Black Bart will release Town To Town on March 25th on the label - Faustuss International.
